The New Orleans Pelicans had a much-needed two-day break after their win against the Washington Wizards. Now they prepare for the Toronto Raptors and have to deal with a role player being added to the injury report.
The Pelicans have been as healthy as they have been in the last two years and though they do have someone back on the report, that will mostly remain the case.
Here's how things look for New Orleans:
Trey Alexander (G League two-way) - Out
Hunter Dickinson (G League two-way) - Out
Bryce McGowens (small toe fracture) - Out
Josh Oduro (G League two-way) - Out
The only change is that McGowens is now out with a toe fracture. It's unclear just how impactful this will be, but a tough break down the stretch of what has been a life-changing year for the forward.
McGowens rose from a fringe NBA player to a three-year deal with New Orleans. He is averaging 8.1 points, 2.1 rebounds and 1.5 assists with 48.1/40.9/77.9 shooting splits this year. That efficiency from three has been game-changing off the bench.
This might not change much in terms of the final few weeks for the team as a whole, but it could have been nice minutes for McGowens to close out the year.
The Raptors have a game on Tuesday night, so their injury report is going to be released later on Wednesday. Trayce Jackson-Davis, Jakob Poeltl, A.J. Lawson, Collin Murray-Boyles and Chucky Hepburn are all dealing with injuries.
Poeltl and Lawson stand the best chance of coming back to play on Wednesday.
