Recently, John Hollinger of The Athletic released a piece that broke down the 2024 draft class and highlighted a few players that need to kickstart their performances into another gear before they wind up in bust territory. In that group, Hollinger highlighted Ron Holland as one of those players at a make-or-break pivot point in his career.

Now, I agree with Sean Murphy's take on this one 100%. For the role that the Pistons needed Holland to fill, which is to serve as a high-octane defensive ace on the wing who can finish in transition, Holland has acquitted himself very well in that regard. Now, certainly the Pistons would enjoy a more consistent perimeter shot from the second-year forward, but Holland is a quintessential example of fitting a square peg into a square peg.

What do you think about the role Ron Holland plays on the Pistons? Is he even close to reaching bust territory or is Hollinger off base in his assessment?
