Daniss Jenkins vs. Dennis Schroder: Backup PG battle through 2 games

May 9, 2026 1:57 AM

During the playoffs, Detroit Pistons head coach J.B. Bickerstaff has shortened his team’s bench considerably, but second-year point guard Daniss Jenkins has survived the lifted expectations required to log postseason minutes. Jenkins has operated as a reliable spark with defensive upside and a penchant for speedy transition offense when Cade Cunningham has needed a breather, and he’s even worked his way into Detroit’s fourth quarter rotation when Ausar Thompson is subbed out for offensive possessions.

So, how does Jenkins fare when matched up against the Cleveland Cavs backup point guard, Dennis Schroder? The answer is very favorably.

Are you surprised by the impact Jenkins has shown across nine games of playoff basketball?
