The Detroit Pistons are looking to pick up their second game seven victory of the 2026 playoffs
With tip-off set for 8 pm tonight at Little Caesars Arena, the Detroit Pistons are looking to win their second consecutive game seven matchup in the 2026 Playoffs.
Earlier in the postseason, the Pistons came back from a 3-1 deficit against the Orlando Magic in the first round, and Detroit has fallen into a similar hole against the Cavs, though the series only went to a 3-2 disadvantage. But for tonight’s Eastern Conference Semifinals matchup, the Pistons have three key players (including one starter) who are carrying various injuries into the do-or-die contest.
During game six, Duncan Robinson was limited due to lower back soreness, and his injury was so painful that Pistons head coach J.B. Bickerstaff was forced to hold the perimeter scoring threat out of the starting lineup. Robinson still was a major factor in the outcome with four three-pointers to his credit in the Pistons’ 115-94 victory. Robinson was a regular starter for Detroit during the regular season, so it was quite atypical to see the Michigan product begin Friday night’s game on the bench, though he still found a way to be productive in his 20 minutes of action. Right now, Robinson is listed as questionable for the game seven battle.
Similarly, the Pistons are closely monitoring a right heel contusion to Caris LeVert, who logged nearly 30 minutes in Detroit’s game six victory two games ago. Although LeVert was also listed as questionable ahead of that elimination game, the veteran guard delivered eight points, three rebounds and three assists in the crucial second round tilt.
During game five, LeVert registered his most impactful performance in a Pistons uniform with 17 points in the first half and 24 total when the final buzzer sounded. After that dominant outing, Bickerstaff opted to continue using LeVert throughout game six, so he will likely play another important role tonight if he’s able to play through his questionable designation.
As for Kevin Huerter, the final player listed on the Pistons’ injury report, the veteran wing has not recovered enough from his left adductor strain to hop off the injury report just yet, so Red Velvet is questionable, just like LeVert and Robinson, for tonight’s win-or-go-home contest.
During Friday night’s win, Huerter was one of only two players (along with Javonte Green) not to check in against the Cavaliers, so it is currently unclear whether the mid-season trade acquisition will be healthy enough to suit up tonight.
As for Cleveland, this marks another clean injury report for the Central Division squad. Earlier in the series, the Cavs were monitoring a minor hamstring issue with Sam Merrill, but the three-point shooter did not miss a beat and played through his ailment, so expect Cleveland to have a full roster at their disposal for tonight’s dramatic game seven far off.
