The Pistons opened the doors on a weekend practice session at Wayne State on Saturday

On Saturday, the Detroit Pistons took a break from their regularly scheduled business to hold a Fall Fan Preview at Wayne State, which served as an open practice for the community to come out and watch the team as well.

With a fairly packed fieldhouse of fans in attendance, the Pistons took time to greet and interact with the crowd throughout the practice. Early on, Pistons head coach J.B. Bickerstaff took the mic to thank everyone for attending, and he spoke in depth about the importance of an engaged fanbase that supports its team with gusto, just like how Detroit has embraced his squad.

Once the practice was rolling, the Pistons kept creating opportunities for the fans to stay involved and interactive. Star guard Cade Cunningham brought a young fan onto the court for a free throw shooting drill and sunk a left-handed free throw while doing so. What can't he do?

Later on, Cunningham and forward Tobias Harris engaged in a friendly competition with some of those in attendance. The Pistons pair held a shooting contest before the team broke out into a 5-on-5 scrimmage.

After the practice wrapped up, Pistons forward / center Isaiah Stewart spoke to the media about the opportunity to bring the fanbase closer to this year's Pistons team.

"They showed up," Stewart said. "They showed out for us. Great atmosphere, great open practice. We appreciate y'all for showing up for it. It's great because we don't usually get the setting every single time to interact with our fans, so to interact with them is great."

Stewart also mentioned how big man Paul Reed debuted a few flashy, acrobatic moves during the dunk contest portion of the open practice. Reed reportedly dazzled those in attendance, but Stewart knew he had a few show-stopping moves in his arsenal already.

The Detroit Pistons next preseason game will fall on Tuesday, Oct. 14 against the Cleveland Cavaliers at 7 pm.
