On Monday morning, the Detroit Pistons kicked off 2025 Media Day with an update on its roster makeup ahead of training camp. In a formal capacity, the Pistons are set to take hit the gym for the start of training camp on Tuesday, then the pre-season will kick off on Monday, Oct. 6 with a game against the Memphis Grizzlies, so this roster announcement comes in a timely manner.

Now, the majority of the Pistons training camp roster should not ring any alarm bells as the team is filled with a wealth of familiar faces. Cade Cunningham, Jaden Ivey, Ausar Thompson, Tobias Harris and Jalen Duren are all ready to go for camp, which is a dose of positive news on the Ivey front. After starting 30 games last season, Ivey suffered a broken leg on Jan. 1 and was sidelines for the rest of the year, but Pistons President of Basketball Operations said Ivey is back and available for training camp.

After that, new arrivals Duncan Robinson and Caris LeVert were both included on the roster. From there, a contingent of players expected to contribute mightily off the bench would encompass Ron Holland II, Isaiah Stewart, Marcus Sasser and Paul Reed.

Pistons President of Basketball Operations Trajan Langdon has already spoken to the press, and head coach J.B. Bickerstaff is at the podium right now.

From there, the end of the bench gets a little murky and less clear, but the not-too-distant pre-season is expected to solidify the Pistons rotation. Detroit's first pre-season game is against the Memphis Grizzlies on Monday, Oct. 6, and that will present a stellar opportunity for guys like Bobi Klintman, Javonte Green, and Tolu Smith to make a case for their place on the team this season.

Smith had a strong Summer League campaign, and he's currently on a two-way contract, so the pre-season could present an inflection point for the 6-11, 245-pound second-year center. Colby Jones and Daniss Jenkins are both on two-way contracts as well, though Jones is unavailable for the start of camp due to a left ankle injury per Langdon.

Recently, the Pistons brought in a few players on Exhibit 10 contracts that would likely secure a position with the Motor City Cruise of the G-League, and that group consists of Charles Bedaiko, Dawson Garcia and Brice Williams.

The Pistons have an ambitious squad, and it's also a youth-laden team. Harris is the team's longest-standing veteran, entering his 15th year in the NBA. LeVert will be entering year 10 of his NBA career, and Robinson has seven years of experience under his belt already as well. Apart from that, most players on the Pistons have been in the league for less than five years, so the developmental portion of the pre-season can prove to be quite valuable for the still-evolving Detroit squad.
