After earning his second career All-Star appearance this season, his impact is apparently not felt as much by the media as by the NBA coaches.

The 2025-26 NBA regular season is just days away from coming to a close, and the Toronto Raptors are in a firm position to end their three-year playoff drought. Led by two-time All-Stars Scottie Barnes and Brandon Ingram, the Raptors have thrived against average or worse teams, but have struggled mightily against the league’s best.

In fact, Toronto has an abysmal record of 0-21 against the Boston Celtics, New York Knicks, Houston Rockets, Denver Nuggets, Los Angeles Clippers, Los Angeles Lakers, San Antonio Spurs, and Minnesota Timberwolves. While their record against non-playoff teams has propelled the Raptors to a 45-36 record,  major questions circle the team as they head into the postseason.

It’s been clear that the Raptors’ offense has been seemingly nonexistent against the top teams, specifically in the fourth quarter. The league’s best turn the ball over much less and get back on defense in transition, two things that the Raptors heavily rely on for scoring. When it comes to half-court offense, Toronto relies on Ingram for isolation scoring, which he hasn’t found great success in against the better defenses in the NBA.

With just one game remaining before the Play-In Tournament begins, Bleacher Report came out with its list of the most overrated players in the NBA, and the former No. 2 pick in the 2016 Draft happened to be the headliner.

Joining the former Duke Blue Devil in the top 10 are role players like Dillon Brooks, Jonathan Kuminga, and Kyle Kuzma. However, there are other stars like Paolo Banchero, Domantas Sabonis, Ja Morant, and even one of the leading candidates to win MVP, Jaylen Brown.

At the end of the day, these lists are simply built to create controversy and dialogue amongst the audience. The comments are filled with fans’ takes on the list (mostly negative), but the interactions are all the company cares about when creating this list. Taking it a step further, a similar list comes out later that is made as a result of a vote from players around the league, and even that is really just for fans to get an inkling into the minds of the professionals.

For those that don’t remember, Indiana Pacers’ superstar point guard Tyrese Haliburton was ranked the most overrated player in the NBA by his peers just last season. This, of course, came right before the playoffs, where the former Iowa State Cyclone led his team to Game 7 of the Finals, and had one of the greatest individual playoff runs fans have ever seen.

Will Ingram be able to match Haliburton’s run from last year? Realistically, probably not. But, the Raptors will hope that this list can fuel their leading scorer to take his team to an improbable playoff series win, which would be the first since the Bubble in 2020.
