The Toronto Raptors achieved an NBA first in blowout win against the Orlando Magic.

The Toronto Raptors entered Sunday’s game against the Orlando Magic looking to build on a 119-106 win over the New Orleans Pelicans on Friday. Friday’s result helped strengthen their position in the Eastern Conference playoff race and returned them to the fifth seed.

Toronto needed another strong performance to create separation from the play‑in teams and maintain momentum with the regular season drawing to a close. With Brandon Ingram and Immanuel Quickley out, the Raptors needed all hands on deck to defeat a Magic team also vying for playoff positioning.

From the opening tip, the Raptors played with intent and after falling behind 20-14 midway through the first quarter, they made history. Toronto went on a 31‑0 run, the longest unanswered scoring streak by any team in the NBA’s play‑by‑play era (since 1996–97).

That historic stretch turned the game decisively in Toronto’s favor and set a tone the Magic could never counter.

Over the course of the run, the Raptors dominated both ends of the floor and quickly turned a close game into a blowout. Toronto’s effort carried throughout all four quarters, resulting in a 139-87 victory; a 52‑point margin and the second‑largest win in franchise history.

Raptors Were No Match for Orlando on Sunday

The Raptors trailed early in the first quarter but closed on a strong note with a 38-20 lead. In the second quarter, Toronto continued to outscore Orlando 32-23, bringing a commanding 70-43 halftime advantage.

The third quarter was where Toronto’s offensive firepower fully took over. The Raptors outpaced the Magic 43-25, increasing their lead to 113-68 early in the fourth. By that point, the game was out of reach, and Toronto closed things out 26-19 in the final quarter to secure an impressive win and put the league on notice.

Scottie Barnes led the Raptors with a complete performance, tallying 23 points, 15 assists (a career high), five rebounds and three steals. RJ Barrett scored 24 points, while Sandro Mamukelashvili added 19 off the bench. All five Raptors starters reached double figures, and A.J. Lawson contributed 14 points, tying his season high.

The Raptors exploited the Magic’s miscues, scoring 37 points off Orlando’s 27 turnovers.

With the win, Toronto improved to 42-32, reclaiming the fifth seed and gaining three games on the 39-35 Magic, who remain in eighth place, with eight games remaining.

Up next for the Raptors is a road game against the No. 1 seed Detroit Pistons on Tuesday.
