Raptors Star Brandon Ingram Sends Message After Win Against Bulls cover image

Brandon Ingram discussed the Raptors' performance after road win against the Bulls.

The Toronto Raptors returned from the All-Star break with a 110-101 win over the Chicago Bulls on Thursday night, improving to 33-23 on the season and remaining fifth in the Eastern Conference. Brandon Ingram led all scorers with 31 points, adding eight rebounds and six assists in the victory on the road. Scottie Barnes, Immanuel Quickley and Ja’Kobe Walter each scored 14 points, and RJ Barrett added 13. Toronto has now won eight of its last 12 games entering the next test on Sunday in Milwaukee.

After the game, Ingram addressed how the team executed down the stretch.

“Everybody is doing their job, and we came out with a win tonight,” the two-time All-Star told Sportsnet’s Blake Murphy.

His play against the Bulls set the tone as the Raptors continue to solidify their positioning before the playoffs.

Brandon Ingram’s Return and Impact in First Season With Raptors

Ingram joined the Raptors via trade from the New Orleans Pelicans on Feb. 6, 2025, in exchange for Bruce Brown, Kelly Olynyk, a 2026 first-round pick and a second-round pick. He signed a three-year, $120 million extension with Toronto shortly afterward.

After joining the Raptors, Ingram was ruled out for the remainder of the 2024-25 season due to a severe ankle sprain suffered on Dec 7, 2024, which occurred while he was still with the Pelicans. This injury kept him sidelined and ended his debut campaign with Toronto before he ever played in a Raptors uniform.

In his first full season with Toronto in 2025-26, Ingram has been a focal point of the offense. He is currently averaging 21.8 points, 5.7 rebounds, and 3.7 assists, and has solidified his role as a primary scorer and playmaker. His presence alongside Barnes and Barrett gives the Raptors a trio capable of both scoring and spacing the floor.

Raptors Continue to Prove a Point in the Eastern Conference

Toronto’s performance this season marks a significant turnaround after missing the playoffs in the previous three seasons. The Raptors last captured an NBA title in 2019, the franchise’s only championship, and they have sought to replicate that run ever since.

While the Detroit Pistons, New York Knicks, Boston Celtics and Cleveland Cavaliers remain among the Eastern teams with championship aspirations, Toronto’s balanced attack and team defense have kept them in position to challenge deep into the postseason.

Thursday’s win also highlighted Toronto’s strength against teams with lower records. The Raptors improved to 24-7 against opponents that entered the night with a bottom-15 record

The Raptors also continue to be kings on the road this season. They have now improved to 17-10 on the road, with 14 road games still to play to close out of the year.

Up next, Toronto travels to face the Milwaukee Bucks on Sunday.
