The Toronto Raptors didn't make any blockbuster moves this season, but they did change their roster ahead of Thursday's NBA Trade Deadline. They sent a 2026 second-round pick via the Los Angeles Lakers to the Golden State Warriors for big man Trayce Jackson-Davis, per ESPN's Shams Charania.
The 6-foot-9, 245-pounder was drafted No. 57 overall by the Warriors in 2023, who acquired his rights from the Washington Wizards for cash considerations on draft night. He averaged 7.9 points on 70.2 percent shooting with five rebounds and 1.1 blocks over 16.6 minutes (68 games) as a rookie.
Jackson-Davis then averaged 15.6 minutes over 62 games the following season, but has played just 36 contests thus far this year.

The Indiana native was a four-star recruit out of high school and chose Indiana University, where he earned consensus first-team All-American honors in 2023. He also earned All-Big Ten honors in 2020, 2022, and 2023, and earned the honor from coaches and media in 2021.
Jackson-Davis averaged 17.9 points on 56.5 percent shooting with 9.1 rebounds, 2.2 assists, and 2.1 blocks over 32.5 minutes across four seasons for the Hoosiers. He also helped them make the NCAA Tournament in 2022 and 2023.
Jackson-Davis might not put up those numbers in Toronto right away, but he does add frontcourt depth. Starting center Jakob Poeltl (back) hasn't played since Dec. 21, and he's the only Raptor over 6-foot-9. Jackson-Davis can slot in as a backup behind Scottie Barnes, Collin Murray-Boyles, and Sandro Mamukelashvili.
This was Toronto's second trade of the season, as it flipped guard Ochai Agbaji and a 2032 second-round pick for future Hall of Famer Chris Paul. It sent Abgaji and the pick to the Brooklyn Nets, and the Los Angeles Clippers sent Paul to the Raptors. However, the 40-year-old is expected to be waived, via NBA On Prime's Chris Haynes.
That trade got Toronto out of the luxury tax, which aids its financial flexibility moving forward. Agbaji had been with the team since the 2023-24 season and is averaging 4.3 points on 42.4 percent shooting (18.5 percent 3-point) with 2.3 rebounds over 15.5 minutes (42 games) this year.
The Raptors are hosting the Chicago Bulls on Thursday night before hosting the Indiana Pacers and Detroit Pistons on Sunday and Wednesday, respectively.
