After achieving a 26-point win two days ago, the Raptors need to repeat their success if they want to make the playoffs.

Thursday night, the Toronto Raptors face the Miami Heat for the second time in three days in an almighty important game for the Eastern Conference Standings. The Heat have a long-shot chance to make it into the 7/8 game for the Play-In Tournament, but are most likely stuck in the 9/10 matchup.

The Raptors, on the other hand, sit just half a game behind the Atlanta Hawks for the fifth seed. More importantly, the Philadelphia 76ers, Orlando Magic, and Charlotte Hornets all trail Toronto by just 1.5 games, meaning if the Raptors don’t continue to win, they will likely be playing an elimination game to make the playoffs.

In their last contest, the Raptors were finally blessed with good health. Starting point guard Immanuel Quickley returned to action after missing eight straight games with plantar fasciitis in his right foot, allowing the entire nine-man rotation to play together for what feels like the first game all year.

Going into Thursday’s game, the official NBA injury report has more good news for the Raptors in their 80th game of the regular season.

Toronto has listed just Chucky Hepburn on the injury report, who is out due to recovery from right knee surgery. Everyone in the rotation is available and ready to go for the second-straight game.

This is an extremely good thing for a team that has been plagued by injuries all season. RJ Barrett, Jakob Poeltl, and Collin Murray-Boyles have missed 84 games combined this year, forcing head coach Darko Rajakovic to experiment with different lineups for the majority of the season.

In Tuesday’s contest, the most impactful players on the offensive end were none other than the two-time All-Stars, Brandon Ingram and Scottie Barnes. Combining for 48 points, 14 rebounds, and eight assists, fans caught a glimpse of what Raptors basketball can truly look like when the two best players are being aggressive on the offensive end. Having the full rotation led the stars to do what they’re paid to do and allowed the role players to do their jobs, resulting in a 26-point win.

It’s important for them to remember that last game no longer matters. While it seems they may have found something they can use to their advantage offensively, there is no guarantee of the same type of production tonight, or that the Heat will play as poorly as they did. Toronto needs to win at least two of its next three games to have the best chance at avoiding the Play-In. With a game coming up tomorrow against the New York Knicks, tonight’s game against the Heat, and the final matchup with the Brooklyn Nets, are must-win games for ending the three-year playoff drought.
