The Houston Rockets (13-5) hosted the Sacramento Kings (5-16) on Wednesday night at Toyota Center, tipping off at 7:00 PM on Space City Home Network and League Pass. Both teams opened with their full starting units: Kevin Durant, Steven Adams, Alperen Şengün, Jabari Smith Jr., and Josh Okogie for Houston, and Russell Westbrook, Keegan Murray, Zach LaVine, Drew Eubanks, and DeMar DeRozan for Sacramento.

Houston came out with noticeably high energy, scoring the first basket through Amen Thompson and immediately forcing back-to-back steals. Despite that early chaos, the Kings settled in quickly, hitting 4-of-6 shots to take a brief five-point lead.
