The red hot Rockets look to continue their strong start to the season as they host the Minnesota Timberwolves in what should be a close game.
Game Preview
On Wednesday, November 4, the Houston Rockets (7-1) host the Minnesota Timberwolves (5-3). This should be a close matchup between two of the stronger teams in the Western Conference.
Both teams had the previous day off, as no NBA games were scheduled on November 3rd to encourage fans, players, and staff to vote and participate in the Midterms.
When: Wednesday, November 4th @ 7:30 PM CT
Where: Toyota Center in Houston, Texas
Where to watch: Local Broadcasting, NBA League Pass, DIRECTV, AT&T SportsNet Southwest
Houston Rockets Injury Report
Steven Adams (C): Out due to a right soleus strain. Hasn't played since the October 23 win over San Antonio, and is expected to miss around a week or two
Clint Capela (C): Downgraded from questionable to out. Capela will miss a second straight game due to a sprained right ankle
Out: Quadir Copeland (G), G-League assignment.
Out: Julian Phillips (F), G-League assignment.
Minnesota Timberwolves Injury Report
Anthony Edwards (G/F): Out due to recent right knee arthroscopy. Expected to be sidelined up to two months
Donte DiVincenzo (G): Out as he continues to rehab from his right Achilles tendon repair surgery
Terrence Shannon Jr. (G/F): Down graded from questionable to out due to a left hip contusion.
Impact of Injury Report
The Minnesota Timberwolves have been learning to win without Anthony Edwards and Donte DiVincenzo this season, but the new absence of Terrence Shannon Jr. will make their chances of winning that much harder. Shannon Jr. will miss only his second game of the season, and he will be missed as he plays a crucial role to the team’s second unit, averaging 12.0 points, 3.6 rebounds, 2.6 assists, across 22 minutes per game.
Capela missing his second straight game means that Tari Eason is likely to see extended minutes, and also play some minutes at the center. It also allows opportunity for Oscar Thsiebwe to get some minutes on the court. Thsiebwe will likely play under 10 minutes, however, so I wouldn’t recommend using him as a streaming option for fantasy purposes.
Houston will be looking to get their eighth win of the season and remain at the top of the Western Conference. Houston should be able to take advantage of this opportunity by playing the Timberwolves while they are missing their best player, Edwards.
Bookmakers have the spread set at Rockets -7, so it is expected to be a relatively close game. The over/under is set at 219.5, so the expected score is projected to be around Houston 113- 106 Minnesota
