Spurs vs. Rockets: Betting Lines, Injuries, and How to Watch cover image

The San Antonio Spurs and Houston Rockets are tied this season at 1-1. On Wednesday night in a primetime showing, the Spurs will hope to get a leg up over their in-state rival.

The San Antonio Spurs dropped what should have been an easy win against the New Orleans Pelicans in their last outing, losing by nine points. The Spurs did get two days of rest before they will have to take on the Houston Rockets, but any momentum they may have had has been squandered.

All season long, the Spurs have struggled with physicality, and Alperen Sengun, Jabari Smith Jr., and Amen Thompson all pose the same challenge to the Spurs.

The Spurs are only two games ahead of the Rockets in the season series, so tonight's primetime matchup is critical to the playoff race, especially since the season series is tied at a game apiece.

Before tipoff, we have you covered with everything you need to know, from betting odds, TV info, and injury reports for both squads.

In the last matchup, which the Rockets won, the Spurs missed Devin Vassell and were 4.5-point underdogs. With Vassell back in the lineup, the Spurs' offensive attack is expected to be much more well-rounded, although Houston maintains home-court advantage.

After Victor Wembanyama was visibly pleased by the Rockets missing out on the top pick in the 2023 NBA Draft, the rivalry between the two Texas teams has reached a boiling point. Sochan and Thoimpson got tangled up last season, and Sengun seems to take any matchup against Wemby personally.

Expect tonight's game to be chippy and physical, and must-watch TV not only for local fans, but for fans of NBA basketball as a whole as well.
