One analyst thinks San Antonio Spurs point guard De'Aaron Fox is the 27th-best player in the NBA.

Frank Urbina of HoopsHype ranked Fox 27th in his top 100 players list for the 2025-26 season. 

Fox appeared in 17 games with San Antonio last season after the Sacramento Kings traded him. The Kentucky product had season-ending surgery to repair tendon damage in his left pinkie.

Before going under the knife, Fox averaged 19.7 points, 4.3 rebounds and 6.8 assists for the Spurs. He finished the 2024-25 season averaging 23.5 points, 4.8 rebounds and 6.3 assists for the Kings and Spurs while shooting 46.3% from the field, 31.0% from beyond the arc and 82.7% from the free-throw line. 

Fox signed a four-year, $229 million extension with the Spurs this offseason. Rich Paul of Klutch Sports Group is Fox's agent.

Fox will make $37.1 million this season. The 27-year-old has career averages of 21.5 points, 3.9 rebounds and 6.1 assists with the Kings and Spurs. He's been to the playoffs just once in his career. 

Fox is one of the best point guards in the NBA. He's universally recognized as the fastest player in the league.  

Fox scored a career-high 60 points last season against the Minnesota Timberwolves. He was still on the Kings. Spurs fans are hopeful that Fox can have a repeat performance like that with them in the future. 

At San Antonio media day, Fox announced that he won't be ready for the start of the season. The veteran is dealing with a hamstring injury. 

The Spurs open the season on October 22 against the Dallas Mavericks. It's unknown when Fox will make his 2025-26 season debut. Hamstring injuries are very tricky, so Fox and the Spurs would be wise to play it safe.
