San Antonio Spurs guard Dylan Harper spent his rookie season trading jerseys with opponents and named the ones he got from LeBron James and Kevin Durant as the most meaningful.
One swap never happened. Harper was asked in an interview with Bleacher Report which jersey he still wants.
"Definitely a Steph Curry jersey, that's probably the biggest one," Harper said. "The two times he played, I didn't play, and the two times I played, he didn't play. So I look forward to getting that opportunity."
Stephen Curry played 39 games in 2025-26. Against Houston on November 26, he took a contusion and muscle strain in his left quad. Several games in early December went with it.
He returned after initially departing on January 30 during the third quarter of a 131-124 loss to Detroit. That was his last appearance. Golden State diagnosed him with patellofemoral pain syndrome in his right knee, which was later complicated by bone bruising. He was sidelined for at least 25 consecutive games.
Curry averaged 27.2 points, 3.5 rebounds, and 4.8 assists, shooting 46.8% overall and 39.1% from three. He secured his 12th All-Star selection. Already, he has four championships, two MVP awards, and holds the career record for three-pointers made.
Golden State had an 8-15 record in the games he missed and finished 10th in the Western Conference. The roster thinned further when Jimmy Butler tore his ACL.
Harper missed some of his own time in November due to a left calf strain sustained against Phoenix.
Out of Rutgers, Harper went second overall in the 2025 draft. De'Aaron Fox and Stephon Castle had the starting backcourt. Castle had won Rookie of the Year the season before. Harper played all 69 of his games off the bench and averaged 11.8 points, 3.4 rebounds, and 3.9 assists. He made the All-Rookie First Team.
In 23 playoff games, his averages increased to 14.1 points, 5.6 rebounds, and 2.7 assists. He started the Western Conference finals with a record-setting 24 points and seven steals—an Spurs playoff record—in a double-overtime victory at Oklahoma City. During the Finals against New York, he averaged 18.0 points, 6.4 rebounds, and 3.0 assists, finishing as San Antonio's second-highest scorer.
Durant and James both switched teams in the last two offseasons. This summer, James joined Philadelphia along with Jaylen Brown.
Curry celebrated his 38th birthday in March and still has two years remaining on his contract with Golden State.
San Antonio reinstated its Finals roster and signed free-agent forward Tobias Harris to a two-year contract. Additionally, Victor Wembanyama agreed to a five-year, $252 million extension on July 10.
The NBA has not released its 2026-27 schedule, which will set the Spurs' meetings with Golden State.
