The San Antonio Spurs beat the Milwaukee Bucks on Thursday, and Victor Wembanyama left a lasting impression on Giannis Antetokounmpo.

It didn't take Victor Wembanyama's double-double masterclass against the Milwaukee Bucks for the San Antonio Spurs' youngster to cement himself as one of the best players in the league, but it certainly didn't hurt.

Wembanyama posted 22 points on red-hot shooting from deep and managed to contain superstar Giannis Antetokounmpo on both ends of the floor. The Greek Freak has long been frustrated by the Bucks, although he was all positive after the game, echoing what most players have already said about Wembanyama.

It's safe to say that Wemby is the future of the NBA, and Giannis didn't back away from giving the young superstar his flowers.

Giannis Teases Retirement After Wemby Masterclass

While Wembanyama shot plenty of 3-pointers in the game against the Bucks, he's been more selective with his shooting this season.

His patience and adjustments, it seems, have been one of his biggest weapons.

"Last year, he was shooting like nine or ten 3s a game, right? This year he shoots like four, five, so what does that mean?" asked the Greek Freak. "That means he's trying to get to his spot more, he's trying to facilitate more for his teammates, he's getting the ball closer to the basket, trying to get in the paint because he's 7-5, like he's pretty much unguardable. So the only way that you can guard a player like that, you just got to be physical and try to push him off the spot. But at the end of the day, I feel like the moment he's able to keep on growing, growing his game and growing as a player, just getting older, he's going to try to figure out his spot."

Giannis is well-aware that Wembanyama will only get better, and he isn't sure that he wants to be around for Wemby's prime.

"I think at one time he's going to be in his final level," Antetokounmpo said after the game. "And then it's going to be a nightmare. And I hope that I'm out of the league, retired."

Of course, Giannis is still very much in his prime and has long been the subject of trade rumors. Perhaps a change of scenery will revitalize him, although it's clear that he and Wemby will have a lot of battles against one another.
