The NBA trade deadline is very quickly approaching, and Shams Charania of ESPN just dropped another bomb.
Per multiple reports, the Milwaukee Bucks are starting to listen to trade offers for their franchise player, Giannis Antetokounmpo.
And the San Antonio Spurs could be one of the teams that could be interested in trading for the nine-time All-Star.
According to betting props on BetOnline, the Spurs have the fourth-highest odds to make a deal for Antetokounmpo, only behind the Rockets, the Knicks, and the Hawks.
San Antonio is currently in second place in the Western Conference after finishing tenth last season, and trading for a superstar like the Greek Freak could really push them over the top and make them a title contender until he decides to retire.
Not to mention that a front court consisting of Antetokounmpo and Victor Wembanyama would be one of the scariest things the NBA has ever seen.
If you take a look at the Spurs' roster, the notable weak spot in the team is the power forward spot. Their starter as of right now is 33-year-old Harrison Barnes who is showing his age, and the Silver and Black has been in search of a trade as a result.
Two of the team's initial targets were Trey Murphy III and Herb Jones of the Pelicans, but New Orleans has since made them unavailable in trades.
If they so choose, the Spurs could skip the secondary star idea in a trade and go straight to the top by making a blockbuster deal for the Greek Freak.
Giannis is currently averaging 28 points, 10 rebounds, and just under six assists per game, and he is doing so on the highest three-point percentage of his career. But all of that has not kept the Bucks from being twelfth in the Eastern Conference standings.
And it's pretty clear that the Greek Freak has grown a bit frustrated with the team in team over the past couple seasons.
But to get Giannis, it would almost definitely mean the Spurs would have to trade one of Stephon Castle or Dylan Harper. If they would be wiling to do that, or find a way around it, San Antonio could make one of the scariest duos in sports history.
