The Spurs’ games against the Pelicans in Paris and Manchester are sold out after roughly 1 million fans registered interest, an NBA record for Europe.
Both of the San Antonio Spurs' regular-season games in Europe this January are sold out, the NBA announced Tuesday morning.
Approximately 1 million fans registered interest in tickets for the NBA Paris Game 2027 presented by Tissot and the NBA Manchester Game 2027, according to the league. The NBA called it the highest level of demand it has ever recorded for games in Europe.
San Antonio plays the New Orleans Pelicans at Accor Arena in Paris on Thursday, Jan. 14. The two teams meet again three days later at Co-op Live in Manchester, England, on Sunday, Jan. 17. Amazon Prime Video will stream both games. Tip-off in Paris is set for 1 p.m. CT, and the Manchester game starts at approximately 9:30 a.m. CT, according to KSAT.
Paris and Manchester Game History
The league first announced the trip on May 20. The Paris game will be the NBA's sixth regular-season game in the city and the 16th game featuring an NBA team in France since 1991. Manchester has hosted one NBA game before. The Jan. 17 game will be the first regular-season game played there and the 20th game featuring an NBA team in England since 1993.
Last season, the NBA sent the Orlando Magic and the Memphis Grizzlies to Berlin and London. Orlando won 118-111 in Berlin. Memphis won 126-109 in London.
The league has said it plans to play at least six regular-season games in Europe from 2025-26 through 2027-28. The 2027-28 games go to Berlin and Paris.
"Playing games in Paris and Manchester reflects the strong momentum we're seeing for basketball and the NBA in France, the UK and across Europe," NBA managing director for Europe and Middle East George Aivazoglou said in the May release. "As interest in the game continues to grow across the continent, we look forward to working with the Pelicans, the Spurs and our partners to deliver unique experiences for fans, aspiring players and the local communities."
The league, the Spurs, and the Pelicans will also run NBA Cares programming, Jr. NBA and Jr. WNBA clinics, Her Time to Play clinics, and coach and referee development sessions in both cities.
Spurs' Last Trip to Paris
San Antonio last played in Paris in January 2025, splitting two games with the Indiana Pacers at the same arena. The Spurs won the first one 140-110 on Jan. 23 and shot 58-of-96 from the field. Two days later, Indiana won 136-98.
Victor Wembanyama had 20 points and 12 rebounds in the second game, shooting 7-of-16. Before San Antonio drafted him first overall in 2023, he played for Paris-based Metropolitans 92.
New Orleans has never played in Paris. Manchester is new for both franchises.
"It's an incredible honor to make our return to France and play our first-ever game in England, given the strong embrace we've felt from the community and fans across Europe," Spurs Sports & Entertainment CEO R.C. Buford said in a statement in May.
Spurs and Pelicans Last Season
The Spurs went 62-20 last season. In the Western Conference finals, they beat the Oklahoma City Thunder in seven games, winning Game 7 111-103 in Oklahoma City on May 30, and Wembanyama received the Magic Johnson Trophy as conference finals MVP. The New York Knicks took the NBA Finals in five games. Game 5 ended 94-90 at Frost Bank Center on June 13.
Wembanyama was voted Defensive Player of the Year on all 100 ballots, the first unanimous winner since the award was created in 1982-83. He averaged 25.0 points and 11.5 rebounds. His 197 blocks led the NBA. On July 10, he signed a five-year, $252 million rookie-scale extension that starts in 2027-28.
New Orleans went 26-56. The Spurs beat the Pelicans 120-116 in overtime at Smoothie King Center on Oct. 24, 2025, in the second game of New Orleans' season.
