Working with the Hall of Famer was fun for Wemby.

San Antonio Spurs star Victor Wembanyama trained with Hall of Famer Kevin Garnett this summer and it was a great experience for the youngster.

Wembanyama spoke about working with Garnett with Spurs reporters after practice on Friday.

The Spurs have a once-in-a-generation player in Wembanyama, who is an elite defender like Garnett was during his career.

Wembanyama is the only player in NBA history with 400-plus blocks and 200-plus 3-pointers in his first two seasons.

The Spurs drafted Wembanyama with the first overall pick in the 2023 NBA Draft. Wembanyama appeared in 71 games during his rookie season. He averaged 21.4 points, 10.6 rebounds, 3.9 assists, 1.2 steals and 3.6 blocks and won the Rookie of the Year Award.

Wembanyama made his first All-Star team last season. He averaged 24.3 points, 11.0 rebounds, 3.7 assists, 1.1 steals and 3.8 blocks.

One of the best players in the NBA, Wembanyama has led the league in blocks per game and total blocks for two consecutive seasons. It wouldn't shock anyone if Wembanyama wins multiple Defensive Player of the Year Awards during his career.

Wembanyama has career averages of 22.5 points, 10.8 rebounds, 3.8 assists, 1.2 steals and 3.7 blocks. The Spurs haven’t made the playoffs since 2019, but they have a bright future with Wembanyama, De'Aaron Fox, Stephon Castle, Devin Vassell and Dylan Harper leading the way.

Wembanyama played in only 46 games last season, as a blood clot in his shoulder prematurely ended his second year in the NBA. He has fully recovered and had a terrific summer.

"My training this summer, it was brutal," Wembanyama said at Spurs media day. "This summer, I chose to do something much more violent. Maybe that takes away from some time I can spend on shooting the basketball, but it doesn’t matter. I wanted to get my body back.

"I can assure you, nobody has trained like I did this summer. And this is my best summer so far. I can tell the progress is just incredible. I feel better, I look stronger and the scale says I’m heavier. So everything is a green light."
