On Monday night, the San Antonio Spurs will take on the Oklahoma City Thunder in Game 1 of the Western Conference Finals.
The Thunder are yet to lose a game in the postseason, sweeping both the Phoenix Suns and the Los Angeles Lakers. They are considered the favorites not only in this series, but to win the NBA Finals, although the Spurs are easily the team they had the most trouble with this season.
San Antonio went 4-1 against OKC in the regular season, showing that they are just as good (if not better) than the defending champs. The Spurs were expected to eventually rival the Thunder, but they are well ahead of schedule and are certainly title contenders in their own right.
This Conferece Finals is the most highly anticipated matchup of the season.

Heading into Game 1, the Spurs are underdogs, although a lot of that has to do with them being on the road. If the Spurs manage to split the first two games in Oklahoma City, expect them to become favorites as the series shifts to the Frost Bank Center.
OKC will get Jalen Williams back to start the series, and the Spurs might be without both De'Aaron Fox and Luke Kornet. Luckily, Dylan Harper has stepped up in a big way this postseason, although without Kornet, Wembanyama will have to play extreme minutes and could take a beating down low by the physical Thunder team.
For now, the Thunder are favored, although Wembanyama might be motivated by losing the MVP race to Shai Gilgeous-Alexander. If Wembanyama looks to set the tone early, expect the rest of his team to follow suit. Game 1 has all the markings of being the best game of the playoffs so far.
