The San Antonio Spurs will open the 2026-27 NBA season against the Oklahoma City Thunder. Deemed the two best teams in the Western Conference, the Spurs are hoping to continue to establish their dominance, and the Thunder are looking for revenge after being bested in the Conference Finals.
The San Antonio Spurs will open up the 2026-27 NBA season with a Western Conference Finals rematch against the Oklahoma City Thunder. San Antonio and OKC are expected to be the two best teams in the West this season, although it's expected to be a tight race back to the Finals.
The Spurs bolstered their lineup with Tobias Harris this summer and didn't lose a single rotation piece. Harris, however, is dealing with a calf strain and might miss the opener. No matter for the Spurs, though, who are going with a starting five of Devin Vassell, Victor Wembanyama, De'Aaron Fox, Dylan Harper, and Stephon Castle.
The Thunder, on the other hand, did lose Lu Dort, Isaiah Joe, and Aaron Wiggins this summer, although they landed Michigan standout Aday Mara 12th overall in the draft. Plus, Jalen Williams is finally healthy and is expected to move the needle for OKC.
Before tipoff, we have you covered with everything you need to know, from betting odds, TV info and injury reports for both squads.

The Spurs have a slight home-court advantage, although fans should expect the Thunder to come out swinging. Shai Gilgeous-Alexander and Victor Wembanyama are frontrunners for the MVP award, and Tuesday's matchup should serve as an early litmus test.
The Thunder have a loaded injury report, although most of that is just preseason precaution. In reality, expect both teams to have a nearly fully healthy roster, with only Oweh and Quaintance certainly staying on the sidelines.
After this game, San Antonio and Oklahoma City won't meet again until February 11, just before the All-Star break. By then, both teams should have a healthy lead over the rest of the Western Conference, but with such a gap between tonight's game and the next one, expect both teams to be looking to make a statement.
