Victor Wembanyama Dismisses Another San Antonio Spurs Concern cover image

The San Antonio Spurs are used to hearing concerns surrounding the sustainability of their playstyle as they head into the postseason, and Victor Wembanyama is tuning out the noise.

The San Antonio Spurs have heard it all before.

"They don't have playoff experience!"

"They can't handle physicality!"

"The playoffs are a different beast!"

It would seem that they don't care about the doubters. Instead, the Spurs have marched through some of the best teams in the league, gotten rough with some of the best bruisers in the NBA, and are marching towards a deep playoff run, possibly even a championship.

After the Spurs won their tenth game in a row--which wasn't without flaws--Victor Wembanyama had to put to rest another concern surrounding the Spurs' chances of going on a deep playoff run.

Victor Wembanyama Dismisses Newest Concern

In the Spurs' road win over the Toronto Raptors, San Antonio roared back from a 15-point fourth-quarter deficit to win 110-107. The game would have been a blowout for the Spurs if they had just made their free throws.

The Spurs went 56.5% from the charity stripe, with the usually reliable De'Aaron Fox making only two of his eight from the line.

Wemby is aware that the free-throw struggles could be a problem, but he isn't too worried.

"I mean, obviously it's something we have to address, of course, but it can go up and down, but yeah, we for sure should have more free throws," he said. "But I'm not concerned about it. As I said, it was a recap of the night, how you've shot all game matters, and how you've been shot at the end too. You need your rhythm and stuff."

The Spurs, as a team, shoot 78.1% from the line. That's less than one percent below the league average. Wembanyama, to his credit, is shooting 81.2% from the line and nailed two critical shots in the tenth straight Spurs' win.
