Phoenix Look for Payback Against Number One in the East Pistons cover image

After losing in Detroit the Suns have a strong performance at home behind Dillon Brooks.

While the Phoenix Suns have been one of the most resilient teams in the league, going up against a top caliber Detroit Pistons was a tall task for an injury torn Suns. Another game without veteran leader Devin Booker, still recovering from a sprained right ankle. Phoenix is looking to see who will step up to pull this off in front of the home crowd.

The Phoenix Suns offense was methodical and well balanced from start to finish.

Although it was a team effort, there was one player who showed up big and that was Dillon Brooks.

Brooks has not just been reliable physically on both sides of the ball, but you know you are going to get one hundred percent from him while he is on the court.

On this night, Brooks did not just bring the energy, but he led the Suns in points with 40, a new career high for the veteran player.

Dillon Brooks scored 24 points in the first half alone, helping his team build a lead that they would never relinquish.

Detroit is considered one of the best defenses in the league, for the Suns to be able to control the rhythm of this game without their main offensive weapons, was a very impressive feat.

From beyond the arc, the Suns shot 38-percent. This opened up passing lanes and made it extremely difficult on the Pistons on defense.

The Suns were able to put up 72 points alone in the first half, the most out of any game this season for Phoenix.

The Suns controlled the boards with 58 rebounds to the Piston's 45.

Detroit was able to get withing three points of the Suns when they made the score 77-74 Phoenix in the third quarter. That would be as close as they would get.

In the fourth quarter Phoenix would expand that lead back to double digits.

Detroit would never be able to come back and end up losing on the road 114-96 to the Suns.
