Phoenix travel to Cleveland, facing off on New Years Eve

The Phoenix Suns continue the road trip in Cleveland on a four-game winning streak. Phoenix is sitting at 19-13 on the season while the Cavaliers are fighting to stay above .500 at 18-16. \

Cleveland is the favorite going into this matchup with the homecourt advantage. Phoenix has proven to be tough road contenders and have recently found what works for them.

Center Mark Williams will be returning for the Suns in this game from his suspension for fighting in New Orleans. Having Williams back under center will help the battle on the glass.

Injuries for the Suns keep making roster moves challenging for coach Jordan Ott.

  • Jalen Green (hamstring), Out - Green being a starter with unique scoring ability has been missed since his last performance when he scored 40 points. No return is set.
  • Grayson Allen, Doubtful - Allen has been battling with an injury and still not fully recovered. It is doubtful the Suns start or even play Allen in this matchup
  • Ryan Dunn, Doubtful - Without Dunna on the court it limits the amount of spacing and depth for the Suns.

Devin Booker will be in the lineup for the Phoenix Suns. The Suns star over the last 20 games is averaging over 25 points per game. His leadership and control of the ball will be needed going against a tough Cleveland defense.

The Cavaliers star Donovan Mitchell on the other hand is averaging around 30 points per game and is going to be a tough player to guard in this game for the Suns. Mitchell is capable of scoring from all over the court, being a multi-dimensional player.

If the Phoenix Suns can control the tempo and limit the number of turnovers they have, the Suns should be able to win going into the new year.
