In a game that led to ejections and suspensions the Suns came out on top in New Orleans.

The Phoenix Suns and the New Orleans Pelicans played a game of grit and passion and entertained the NBA world on Saturday night. Phoenix was able to walk away, physically bruised but victors in Nola that night with a 123-114 win.

The game the night before was already a little chippy, so you knew the next day was only going to intensify.

The Phoenix Suns extended their road trip success by beating the New Orleans Pelicans in a high-emotional battle, including competitive energy, clutch shots and a scuffle in the third quarter.

To start the game both teams were prepared and playing well. The Phoenix Suns sharpshooter Colin Gillespie connected on multiple three-pointers in the first half.

Mark Williams was key in the paint for the Suns, making second-chance points for the Phoenix in the first half. With Zion Williamson playing a bench role in this game, his presence was missed when Williams was on the court.

At the end of the first quarter the Suns were down by one point but soon found a rhythm in the second quarter.  Phoenix went into the half with a ten-point lead (65-55.)

With only two minutes remaining in the third quarter, a physical moment became much more. Pelicans guard Jose Alvarado was fighting through a pick from the Suns center Mark Williams and was whistled for a foul after contact was made.

After the whistle Alvarado was than shoved by Williams, then the altercation got real when punches started being thrown by both individuals. Both players were given fighting technical fouls and ejected from the game.

After losing Williams to ejection the Suns leaned on Devin Booker to lead them down the stretch. Booker took over the offensive load and finished with 20 points that included multiple clutch shots to finish the game.

Moving forward and pending NBA investigation, the Suns will have to change up the rotation when a suspension if/is announced.
