One Suns insider believes it's unlikely Miles Bridges is traded to Phoenix.

The Phoenix Suns had a disappointing end to the season, as they were swept by the Oklahoma City Thunder in the first round of the NBA playoffs.

With the front office seemingly being set on contending with guard Devin Booker at the helm, it shouldn't be a surprise to hear Phoenix come up as a destination for stars around the league. This includes Charlotte Hornets forward Miles Bridges, who was recently linked to the Suns in trade rumors.

Suns insider John Gambadoro weighed in on the speculation, claiming it is unlikely Bridges ends up in a Suns uniform.

"I would say the Suns have always liked Bridges, but I believe this is unlikely," Gambadoro wrote. "Based on 1. He is a free agent after this season on a $22 million expiring contract so he may end up being too expensive."

Bridges is entering the final season of his three-year, $75 million contract, so it's entirely possible a move for him ends up being nothing more than a single campaign rental.

Still, Bridges is an athletic wing who averaged 17.1 points and 5.8 rebounds on 46.0% shooting in 77 appearances in the 2025-2026 regular season.

Gambadoro continued, "2. Suns love Rasheer Fleming who showed a ton of promise last season as a rookie and he is going to continue to get bigger more important minutes going forward. So, while not ruling out completely I will say unlikely to happen."

Fleming was selected by the Suns with the No. 31 pick in the 2026 NBA Draft, and as Gambadoro pointed out, he showed much promise in his first season. The 6-foot-9, 240-pound forward recorded 4.3 points and 2.3 rebounds per game on 40.5% shooting.

By adding Bridges to the mix, it could absolutely prevent Fleming from blossoming in his sophomore season.

The reality is the Suns were a mediocre team in the Western Conference this season, so any move that can bring them a step closer to contention or rebuilding isn't a bad idea.
