The Phoenix Suns are making another major move. This time by trading for Charlotte Hornets star forward Miles Bridges.

The Phoenix Suns' busy offseason continues.

The Suns are trading guard Grayson Allen, forward Royce O'Neale, and a 2033 first-round pick to the Charlotte Hornets for star Miles Bridges, a 2029 first-round pick and a 2027 second-round pick, per ESPN's Shams Charania.

"BREAKING: The Charlotte Hornets are trading Miles Bridges, a 2029 first-round pick and a 2027 second-round pick to the Phoenix Suns for Grayson Allen, Royce O'Neale and a 2033 first-round pick, sources tell ESPN," Charania posted to X.

Charania continued, "The Suns acquire a starting PF at 28 years old in Bridges -- whom they've targeted in recent years -- plus a 2029 less favorable first-rounder and a 2027 less favorable second rounder while getting $20 million in tax savings while opening up a roster spot ahead of free agency. Charlotte picks up two playoff-tested role players and receives a valuable further out, unprotected Suns first-round pick."

The Suns have finally filled their void at power forward with this deal. Their starting lineups now projects as follows: Devin Booker, Jalen Green, Dillon Brooks, Miles Bridges, and Mark Williams.

As previously mentioned, Phoenix has already had one of the most action-packed offseasons of any NBA team. They have signed Williams and guards Collin Gillespie and Jordan Goodwin to new contracts.

Bridges is a strong pickup for Phoenix. He averaged 17.1 points, 5.8 assists, and 3.2 rebounds on 46.0% shooting and 33.3% shooting from three-point range in 77 games in the 2025-2026 season. He thrives on both ends of the floor heavily due to his athleticism. He has dealt with some off-court issues in the past, but the hope is those are behind him, especially with a fresh start in Phoenix.

It's worth noting Bridges is entering the final season of his three-year, $75 million contract. This means the Suns will either need to sign him to a long-term extension, or this trade could end up as nothing more than a one-year rental.

It's safe to say GM Brian Gregory is determined to compete in the loaded Western Conference next season.
