The Oklahoma City Thunder are fresh off of a championship season, but the front office had no time to rest.

While the players and coaches were in the middle of their vacations and trying to get their bodies right after a long season, the front office stayed busy.

Signing Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, Jalen Williams, Chet Holmgren and Jaylin Williams to new extensions over the summer. While those are all great for this young team, the work doesn't just stop there.

Outside of the obvious things a front office has to deal with throughout the season, there are still some key dates and contract situations they have to get settled.

    Key Dates To Know

    October 20

Oct. 20 is the final day for the Thunder to extend forward Ousmane Dieng. Now entering his fourth season, Deing has shown flashes of the size, versatility, and playmaking that intrigued the Thunder in the first place.

The issue is that he hasn't put it all together consistently. And to be fair, it's not all his fault, given how talented the Thunder have been and how young he came into the league while also dealing with injuries.

All of that hasn't allowed him to carve out a consistent role. At this point, it would be very surprising if he and the Thunder were able to work out an extension on or before the 20th.

    October 31

Oct. 31 is the final day the Thunder can exercise the rookie scale options for Cason Wallace and Nikola Topic. It will be the fourth year option for Wallace and the third year for Topic.

Both are seen as no-brainers. Wallace has proven his value and more as a premier defensive stopper and has gotten better offensively in his first two seasons. Picking up his option shouldn't shock anyone.

Topic, on the other hand, has not proven his value yet because he missed all of his rookie year due to injury. The Thunder feel like they have something with him and this season will tell us a lot, but we truly don't know.

What do do know is, though, it's worth figuring out, and for that reason, just like Wallace, it would be a huge surprise if this didn't get done.

    Extension Eligible Players To Watch

While it was great that Oklahoma City got extensions done over the summer for Gilgeous-Alexander, Holmgren, and Jalen and Jaylin Williams over the summer, there are still a few guys that didn't get their extensions when they became eligible.

    Lu Dort

At this point, Lu Dort has outplayed his contract. He has been seen as one of the premier perimeter defenders in the league, but he hasn't gotten the recognition that he deserves in terms of accolades. Until last season, when he was recognized as an NBA All-Defensive Team member.

There is a reason there was no extension worked out over the summer, and it's likely because he'd command more in free agency than the extension he'd sign. This doesn't mean he doesn't want to stay a member of the Oklahoma City Thunder.

Just that, he has to think of his financial future and make sure he's getting what he's worth. Dort very well could end up resigning with the Thunder at a higher point. There are also other options we have to brace for, though.

He could be trade bait, given the financial implications a new contract could bring with the new CBA. There is also the possibility that he leaves in free agency because he's offered more money than the Thunder would like to offer.

Either way, Dort deserves every penny and probably more.

    Kenrich Williams

Fan favorite Kenrich Williams has spoken multiple times about how he would like to retire in Oklahoma City.

After winning a championship with the team, in some aspects, it would make things hurt more for fans if he didn't retire as a member of the Thunder.

Although he's in his thirties, the eldest Williams has been a steady veteran in the locker room for Oklahoma City and would not only be greatly missed by the fans but also in the locker room.

If both he and the Thunder can find a good number, which seems very possible, this relationship should continue.

There is also the possibility that he gets traded to relieve some future cap stress or to bring in more talent, but at this point, it's expected that he's going to be a member of the Thunder for the foreseeable future.
