Williams' social media buzzes with a "back soon" message, fueling fan speculation about his highly anticipated return to the court.

It's not exactly the official NBA injury report, but the tea leaves of social media can sometimes reveal the health news of your favorite players before teams submit any formal update.

And that appears to be the case for an Oklahoma City Thunder fan favorite that the OKC faithful have been anxiously awaiting to see return to the court. Jalen Williams took to his Instagram, technically his secondary account, to post an update that had Thunder fans excited going into the weekend.

The 2025 All-NBA selection posted a picture of himself on the @jtelladubbyy along with two simple but all important words: "back soon".

As OKC fans rushed to NBA social media to speculate on when exactly "soon" is meant to be, we were given some clarity early Friday evening. Jalen Williams was still listed as "out" on the official injury report for the Washington Wizards matchup on Saturday afternoon.

That leaves 11 games remaining on the 2025-2026 regular season schedule. The Thunder have two games left on the current road trip after the Wizards contest. It would seem to make sense for Williams to return for the first game back home next Friday against Josh Giddey and the Chicago Bulls. That should be a game Oklahoma City handles fairly easily and will allow for a ramp up game as the competition increases over the next several matchups.

Then again, the Santa Clara product did fly out to be with the team during the middle of his current road trip. Maybe the ramp up game could be planned for Jared McCain's first game back in Philadelphia before OKC faces off for Round 2 against the Boston Celtics in TD Garden.

Williams has missed 44 games so far this season. In the 26 games he has played, the All-Star has averaged 17.5 points, 4.7 rebounds, 5.4 assists and 1.3 steals. Just as he was rounding back into his usual All-NBA form, Williams tweaked his hamstring. The good news is that the wrist that he had surgery on in the offseason is reportedly feeling the best it has since he injured it. The focus now is just making sure the hamstring is 100% before returning to the court.

Due to OKC's current 10 game winning streak, the team has been able to weather the absence of their second or third best player. But for the Thunder to make another deep playoff run and repeat as NBA champs, they will need Jalen Williams.

And according to the man himself, his return is coming soon.
