Shai Gilgeous-Alexander is an All-Star.
Okay, an admittedly pretty obvious opening statement. More specifically, Gilgeous-Alexander has been named a 2026 All-Star starter. It's the fourth consecutive season in which the Thunder superstar has been selected as an All-Star and the third straight year of being tabbed a starter.
Gilgeous-Alexander will be joined by Luka Doncic of the Los Angeles Lakers, Steph Curry of the Golden State Warriors, Nikola Jokic of the Denver Nuggets and Victor Wembanyama of the San Antonio Spurs as All-Star starters in the Western Conference.
The Eastern Conference All-Star starters will be Giannis Antetokounmpo of the Milwaukee Bucks, Jaylen Brown of the Boston Celtics, Jalen Brunson of the New York Knicks, Cade Cunningham of the Detroit Pistons and Tyrese Maxey of the Philadelphia 76ers.
The reigning Most Valuable Player finished in 3rd place among all Western Conference players in the final weighted score that factors in fan, player and media voting. Gilgeous-Alexander finished 1st in media voting, 3rd in player voting and 4th in fan voting for a weighted score of 3. Jokic finished 1st with a 1.75 weighted score and Doncic finished second with a 2.5 weighted score.
OKC's other All-Star hopeful Chet Holmgren finished 17th in the final weighted score. The Defensive Player of the Year frontrunner received the 15th most player votes and the 20th most fan votes. Fortunately for Holmgren and his chances to become a first time All-Star, coaches will decide which players will be chosen as reserves. Traditionally, the #1 team in the league is rewarded with multiple honorees. All-Star reserves will be announced on February 1.
Of the 18 rostered Oklahoma City Thunder players (including two-way contracts), all but three received at least one nod from the players votes. The only OKC players without a vote were the injured Thomas Sorber and Nikola Topic, both of whom have not played an NBA minute so far, and two-way signee Chris Youngblood.
