Unveiling OKC's new City Edition: jerseys and court honor Native and Indigenous cultures, uniting fans with a bold, celebrated design.
Oklahoma City Thunder fans, like fans for every sports squad in the known universe, have wildly varying opinions on their favorite team's game day apparel.
Thunder jerseys have come in countless colors and styles throughout the franchise's time in OKC. And the social media verdict for each of those uniforms over the years have typically varied from "really good" (shout out to the sunset jerseys) to "pretty terrible" (looking at you, sleeved jerseys). But the City Edition jerseys and court that Oklahoma City debuted on Wednesday night against the Sacramento Kings was the rare consensus "excellent."
“I loved them. The court was really nice. And the jerseys were awesome," Sixth Man of the Year candidate Ajay Mitchell said when asked about the team's new duds.
Another Thunder player provided a more provocative stamp of approval.
"Our city edition court is sexy," Chet Holmgren tweeted after the Kings game.
The 2025-26 Nike NBA City Edition Uniform is a tribute to the Native and Indigenous cultures that shape Oklahoma’s identity and community spirit. The debut was timed in unison with the similarly designed City Edition court at Paycom Center during OKC's annual Native American Heritage Night.
The new jerseys are inspired by Oklahoma City's popular 2018-19 City Edition design. A detailed description of the new jerseys was included in the official Thunder press release back in August.
"At the center of the jersey, interlocking geometric shapes form “OKC,” symbolizing unity and strength. Inspired by the Oklahoma River that binds the north and south sides of our city, the jersey also features water-like teeth uniting the jersey’s duotone halves.
On the waistband is a pattern of expanding squares representing growing communities, inspired by ceremonial regalia. Hidden in the right side-leg of the shorts is a turtle emblem, representing endurance and unity, featuring a circular shell with lines echoing community connection and the medicine wheel. The turtle’s squares and arrows point toward OKC, reflecting the four sacred directions.
Sunset-toned sashes wrap the shoulder and shorts leg, honoring tribal resilience and shared identity. The 11 geometric stars on the sides of the jersey and shorts carry forward stories passed through generations."
Each Friday home game has been designated as a City Nights game, during which the team will wear the uniform and play on the City Edition court. Those games and dates include the Dallas Mavericks on December 5, Indiana Pacers on January 23, Brooklyn Nets on February 20, Denver Nuggets on February 27 and Chicago Bulls on March 27.
