The first fan returns for the 2026 NBA All-Star Game have been released and the results for the Oklahoma City Thunder were a mixed bag.
Shai Gilgeous-Alexander is currently the #4 vote getter in the Western Conference with 878,621 votes. The only players above him at the moment are Luka Doncic, Nikola Jokic and Stephen Curry. Each of those players have over 1 million votes from the initial returns.
Chet Holmgren is currently the #19 vote getter in the Western Conference with 92,210 votes. He is sandwiched in between young star Stephon Castle of the San Antonio Spurs and aging star Kawhi Leonard of the Los Angeles Clippers. Holmgren is less than 1,000 votes behind Castle.
On one hand, it's positive that Oklahoma City has two players representing the Thunder in the top 20. And that one of them is among the handful of most popular superstars in the world. On the other hand, both Gilgeous-Alexander and Holmgren are defending champions who have played at a level above the positions in which they are rated from the fan vote. And the reigning MVP and Finals MVP should be in the million votes club, especially considering he has somehow raised his game from an already historic previous season.
Despite the initial fan voting results, a dominant #1 seed is traditionally rewarded with multiple All-Stars. The Thunder were represented by Gilgeous-Alexander and Jalen Williams last year. This season, Holmgren may be the one joining his MVP teammate as a first time selection.
