Survey Shows OKC Thunder Fans Have Clear Favorite All-Time Player cover image

Thunder Nation speaks. Discover the top fan-chosen former OKC stars, from offensive titans to defensive anchors. Who reigns supreme?

The Oklahoma City Thunder have a rich history of talented players who have donned an OKC jersey.

From The Ford Center to The Chesapeake Energy Arena to The Paycom Center, there have been numerous Hall of Famers and All-Stars who have played pro hoops in Oklahoma City. But it's not always the most high profile players that fans get most attached to or end up loving the most. Sometimes it's the high effort role players or the guys who give the funniest interviews or the defensive or shooting specialists.

Russell Westbrook recently passed Oscar Robertson to become the top scoring point guard of all time. Kevin Durant is the second highest scoring small forward of all time. James Harden is the third highest scoring shooting guard of all time. Coming to this realization made me curious: who are Thunder fans' favorite players of all-time?

So I posed the question to the OKC faithful on social media and received around 1,000 votes.

Top 10 Favorite Former Thunder Players

10. Paul George. The future Hall of Famer had his best season in Oklahoma City when he finished 3rd in MVP voting in 2019. George's re-signing in OKC set the table for the franchise altering trade that netted Shai Gilgeous-Alexander and a treasure trove of draft picks.

9. Thabo Sefolosha. Before Andre Roberson and Lu Dort, this Swiss shooting guard was the original elite Thunder perimeter defender.

8. Anthony Morrow. Dubbed "The fastest gun in the West", he was OKC's 3 point specialist from 2015-2017. Morrow's lightning fast, no dip shooting form was mimicked (unsuccessfully) for years all across Oklahoma high school, church and pick up gyms.

7. Chris Paul. The first superstar to play professional basketball in Oklahoma came back years later for one special season Paul mentored Gilgeous-Alexander and helped establish some long lasting leadership qualities.

6. Kevin Durant. Some will be surprised he's not higher. Others will be surprised he's this high.

5. Andre Roberson. His defense was so incredibly elite that OKC still dominated teams when he was on the court even despite his infamous shooting woes.

4. Serge Ibaka. One of the all-time Sam Presti draft gems. Taken with the 24th pick in 2008, Ibaka transformed into an elite shot blocking big who could shoot from deep. OKC trading the fan favorite for Domantas Sabonis and Victor Oladipo eventually turned into Paul George which eventually turned into Shai Gilgeous-Alexander and Jalen Williams (and much more).

3. Nick Collison. There's a reason he's nicknamed "Mr. Thunder".

2. Steven Adams. Arguably the funniest, most likable player in Thunder history. Inarguably the strongest player in Thunder history.

1. Russell Westbrook. And it wasn't even close.
