From Shai Gilgeous-Alexander’s MVP dominance to Jalen Williams’ multi-position versatility, discover which Oklahoma City stars offer the statistical upside and roster flexibility needed to anchor your championship run.

The NFL season kicks off on Wednesday night, which means that fantasy football fanatics held millions of league drafts over Labor Day weekend.

While fantasy basketball will never touch the popularity of its pigskin sports kin, the NBA version has successfully grown its brand over the years. And the Oklahoma City Thunder have one of the most fantasy friendly rosters in the league.

Whether you are going to dive into fantasy basketball for the first time or even if you are a seasoned vet in the hobby, you may be considering various OKC players during your draft. So I've compiled a list of the Thunder players who can most help your fantasy basketball team next season.

Top 5 Thunder Players for 2026-2027 Fantasy Basketball

Honorable Mentions: Cason Wallace, Jared McCain, Jaylin Williams.

5. Ajay Mitchell. Typically, Sixth Man of the Year candidates are strong fantasy basketball options in the middle rounds. Which means OKC's 6MOY candidate could be a bargain if he falls to the double digit rounds. Mitchell was in the midst of a sophomore season breakout and may have won the prize last season if not for a rash of injuries. If he stays healthy, the Thunder's third ball handler/shot creator is going to stuff the stat sheet.

4. Isaiah Hartenstein. Despite Oklahoma City welcoming two new young lottery level talents to the big man room, Hartenstein's 25 minutes or so in the rotation are locked. OKC's starting center is a threat to reach a double double every night, which is rewarded with bonuses in many points leagues.

3. Jalen Williams. The most underrated Thunder player in fantasy basketball right now. A season ravaged by injuries seems to have made hobbyists forget that Williams is a fantasy cheat code due to his strong contributions in nearly every category. Speaking of cheat codes, he is also eligible to be slotted into nearly every position. Williams will resume his role as OKC's second scorer and playmaker and those who draft him will reap the rewards.

2. Chet Holmgren. An easy click in the second round of fantasy basketball drafts. Holmgren provides positive points in scoring, rebounding, blocks, 3 pointers and field goal percentage. He's considered a unicorn because he's a 7 footer with special offensive skills and that two way impact shows up in fantasy.

1. Shai Gilgeous-Alexander. The only question here is whether the back to back MVP is drafted at #1, #2, #3 or #4 overall. Almost every fantasy basketball draft will have Gilgeous-Alexander, Victor Wembanyama, Nikola Jokic and Luka Doncic going in some sort of order at the top. OKC's superstar wins NBA games... and fantasy games.
