The Minnesota Timberwolves (19-10) found themselves trailing by as many as 16 points in the first half against a Giannis Antetokounmpo-less Bucks squad, continuing a troubling trend of sluggish starts that has plagued Minnesota at times this season.

After the comeback win, Finch was honest about what needs to change moving forward.

"It's shot making… we are creating a lot of good looks and just not going in," Finch said. "Maybe we are a little jump-shot reliant to start games. I think we can get more to the rim."

The Timberwolves shot just 31 percent from three-point range on the night and trailed 60-48 at halftime, but they flipped the script in the second half by attacking the basket and outscoring Milwaukee 55-40 over the final two quarters.

The return of veteran point guard Mike Conley from a two-week absence due to an Achilles injury helped spark the comeback, as the 38-year-old finished with six points, six assists, five rebounds, and two blocks in 24 minutes of action.

Edwards and Bench Lead the Way

Anthony Edwards led the way for Minnesota with 24 points, six assists, four rebounds, and a block, though he shot just 7-of-24 from the field and 2-of-11 from three-point range.

The Timberwolves star made up for the inefficient shooting by getting to the free throw line and knocking down 8-of-12 attempts, and he hit a clutch driving layup with 21 seconds remaining to seal the win.

Six players finished in double figures for Minnesota, with Donte DiVincenzo adding 18 points and five rebounds off the bench.

Julius Randle contributed 12 points and seven rebounds, Naz Reid chipped in 12 points and six rebounds, and both Rudy Gobert and Terrence Shannon Jr. finished with 11 points each.

Gobert also grabbed 18 rebounds in the win, reaching a career milestone of 10,000 career rebounds.

Bucks Continue to Struggle

Kevin Porter Jr. nearly posted a triple-double for Milwaukee (11-18) with 24 points, 10 rebounds, and nine assists, but the Bucks couldn't hold on down the stretch.

Milwaukee has now lost seven of their last 10 games and sits 12th in the Eastern Conference standings.

Looking Ahead

With the win, Minnesota holds the sixth spot in the Western Conference standings and remains even with the Houston Rockets for fifth place while trailing the Los Angeles Lakers by one game and the Denver Nuggets by two games.

The Timberwolves will look to stay hot when they host the New York Knicks on Tuesday at Target Center.

After that, Minnesota faces a tough road stretch that includes matchups against the Chicago Bulls and Atlanta Hawks before heading into January, where they will take on the Bucks again in Milwaukee on January 14 as part of a challenging four-game road trip.

With Conley back in the fold and the team's depth on full display against Milwaukee, the Timberwolves appear poised to make another strong push toward the top of the Western Conference standings as the season progresses.
