Anthony Edwards has plenty of jokes in his new Adidas commercial.
The new Anthony Edwards 3s are set to drop on Friday, and to promote the release of his new signature shoe, Edwards and Adidas teamed up for a new commercial with a talk show vibe.
In his opening monologue, the Minnesota Timberwolves star had jokes for LeBron James, saying, "Speaking of old school, you see where big dog ended up? He was gon' join me in Minnesota but I guess his knees couldn't handle the cold weather.”
“Big dog” is referencing LeBron, who had the Timberwolves was one of his potential destinations, but he decided to sign with the Philadelphia 76ers.
“We know why he really made that decision. Philly got some of the best barbers in the world. Between him and ol’ boy from Boston, they’re going to have a whole lot of enhancements going on in the locker room,” he joked.
LeBron joins Philadelphia alongside Jaylen Brown, who was traded from Boston to Philly.
Brown was made fun of last season for his hair rubbing off on other players when his head would get into their chest. LeBron has often been made fun of over the years for his hairline fading as he has aged.
Fair Jokes?
It’s all fun and games for Edwards, who hasn’t been afraid to poke fun at himself or others in these commercials or interviews.
Edwards is a notorious trash talker when he’s on the court, and backs it up. LeBron and Brown may or may not have a sense of humor after their respective heads of hair, but they will have a chance to do something about it when the 76ers play the Timberwolves, just like Edwards will have a chance to back up his talk.
LeBron might take things a little more in stride than Brown, who has proven to be a little more serious when it comes to jokes about his game.

Later in the commercial, Edwards expressed his excitement about the addition of LaMelo Ball to the team, saying they are doing all types of things together, but one thing they aren’t doing is carpooling if he’s driving.
LaMelo was in multiple accidents as a driver while he was in Charlotte.
He also poked fun at Jalen Brunson for having his dad as an assistant coach in New York, and said it was over “You know who,” which seems to be referencing Shai Gilgeous-Alexander.
If LaMelo can take that joke in stride, LeBron and Jaylen should find the humor in Edwards promoting his latest shoe release.
