Ayo Dosunmu is ready to step it up..
Minnesota Timberwolves guard Ayo Dosunmu made an immediate impact with the when he came over to the team from the Chicago Bulls at the trade deadline last season, averaging 14.4 points, 4.2 rebounds. 3.5 assists and 1.0 steals per game in 24 games in the Twin Cities, starting nine of them.
After showing his value even more in the first round of the playoffs against the Denver Nuggets when he stepped up after Anthony Edwards went down with an injury and responded with a career-high 43 point performance in Game 4, immediately catapulting himself into fan-favorite territory.
He leveraged that goodwill into a five-year, $112 million contract with the Timberwolves in the offseason, ensuring that he'll be in Minnesota for a long time, and now Dosunmu could be looking at an even more elevated role next season as a potential starter for the Timberwolves.

While he's shown that he can step up in a big way already, that doesn't mean that Dosunmu is done trying to improve and a recent statement that Dosunmu made in a video that he uploaded to his YouTube channel proves that even more.
In the video, titled "100 hours in LA as an NBA Player," Dosunmu took his viewers throigh an intimate look at his training routine and how he's preparing for next season and he made a bold declaration that should leave Timberwolves fans thrilled for what's yet to come.

Isaiah J. Downing-Imagn Images"I try to make deep improvements. I'm trying to be elite, not just good. I don't even need to be elite. So, you got to push a little bit harder," Dosunmu said. "Do it now, every day, push it, push it, push it. I want to be a little bit better each day. I'm not looking for a huge margin, just a little better each day."
That kind of update is one of the most encouraging things that a Timberwolves fan can hear. Dosunmu was already an outstanding presence coming off the bench as it is and proved that he has true star potential, so the idea of him taking another step forward in his skillset is something that could take the Timberwolves even higher.

They've already made a major upgrade by introducing LaMelo Ball into the mix and adding Jonathan Kuminga fixes a glaring need within the roster, so having someone like Dosunmu, who has thrived in a support role, so determined to improve his own game can be the last step that the Timberwolves need to take to become true contenders.
The kind of mentality that Dosunmu espoused in his video is also something that can rub off on the rest of the locker room and if the entire roster sees how hard Dosunmu is working and how dedicated he is to his goals, they could be inspired to step up their game as well.
