LaMelo Ball is bringing the energy for the Timberwolves.
Guard LaMelo Ball was the Minnesota Timberwolves' biggest offseason addition by far and he's going to be trusted with a lot of responsibilities both on and off the court this season.
As far as on the court work goes, the regular season will be the biggest test for the new Minnesota point guard to see if his playmaking and individual offensive abilities will truly unlock the Minnesota offense and the skills of star guard Anthony Edwards. But when it comes to what Ball adds off the court, he's already making an impact in a big way.
Ball's playmaking inherently means that he has a talent for making the players around him better, but Ball's natural energy and humor also make him an ideal teammate who can add some levity to the locker room and introduce a spirt of ease throughout the team.

Reese Strickland-Imagn ImagesThat specific kind of impact from Ball has already been felt and it's become apparent to media figures around the team like The Athletic's Jon Krawcynski, who spoke on the energy that Ball brings in a recent interview.
Ball's Vibrancy
“There’s just this vibrancy about him, there’s just this sort of energy within him that is permeating the rest of the team," Krawcynski said (via Kyle Ingram).
Ball's personality and intensity on the court was one of the biggest standout reasons as to why his combination with Edwards specifically was so exciting when Ball's trade to the Timberwolves was first announced.

Bringing Out the Best in the Timberwolves
So it's no surprise that the two have become fast friends over the offseason and are already looking to be one of the smoothest parings on the court. The Timberwolves are already a team that thrives on electricity both in their play style and their personalities, so Ball has shown he can fit right in.

Jim Dedmon-Imagn ImagesThe energy that the young point guard brings is also reflective of what his role on the team is. Point guards are natural tone setters on a NBA roster, trusted to dictate the play on the court and the energy off of it, so Ball has taken both aspects of his duties in stride.
He truly does look like the missing piece that that the Timberwolves have needed to get over the playoff hump and finally make a NBA Finals appearance and even if times get hard during the regular season and beyond, Ball's vibrancy and spark can be trusted to buoy the team and take them to new heights.
