They've still performed strongly in recent weeks, going 8-2 in their last ten. At 40-24, they are third in the West, grouped with the Houston Rockets, Lakers, and Denver Nuggets. All four teams are within a game and a half of each other.
The Lakers bested the Knicks in their last game, winning 110-97. They've won two straight and five of their last six, but are 6-4 in their last ten. They sit fifth in the West at 39-25, part of the aforementioned group with the Timberwolves, Rockets, and Nuggets.
The Lakers are 2-0 against the Timberwolves this season, but both games took place in October. The Lakers won 128-110 on October 24 and 116-115 on October 29. This will be the final meeting between the two teams unless they meet in the playoffs.
