Timberwolves Near Full Health On Injury Report vs Cavaliers cover image

The Minnesota Timberwolves will be near full health on the injury report vs the Cleveland Cavaliers

Through three games in 2026, the Minnesota Timberwolves have been able to remain perfect. Winning their first two games of the year on the road and their most recent at home, they'll close out their two-game homestand on Thursday against the Cleveland Cavaliers, starting a quick home-away series between the two.

Recently, the Timberwolves have not only had success offensively with players like Anthony Edwards and Julius Randle, but Rudy Gobert has also continued to be a problem for opposing offenses, making a case for a fifth Defensive Player of the Year Award. Heading into Thursday's contest, things are looking upward for Minnesota.

Timberwolves Injury Report

Taking a look at the injury report for the Timberwolves, just three players are listed as OUT, with those being Rocco Zikarsky (two-way), Enrique Freeman (two-way), and Terrence Shannon Jr. (foot). Additionally, Anthony Edwards was added to the injury report as QUESTIONABLE with injury maintenance.

Neither Freeman nor Zikarsky has seen minutes for the Timberwolves this season, while Shannon Jr. has had opportunities to prove his value to the team's rotation. One of his best performances of the season came against the Golden State Warriors on December 12th, as he posted nine points, four rebounds, and three assists in the road win.

However, Shannon Jr. hasn't lived up to the expectations many had set for him, especially with the role opening up with Nickeil Alexander-Walker departing for the Atlanta Hawks. Still just 25 years old, Shannon Jr. has plenty of time to turn things around and look like the elite player he was with Illinois in college.

Cavaliers Injury Report

Cleveland's injury report features four players listed as OUT, those being Chris Livingston (two-way), Max Strus (foot), Luke Travers (two-way), and Dean Wade (knee).

The other two players listed are Larry Nance Jr. (calf), who is listed as QUESTIONABLE, and Jaylon Tyson (illness), who is listed as PROBABLE.

Game Preview

Thursday will mark the first contest of their two-game regular season series, one that will see two of the top shooting guards in the NBA, Anthony Edwards and Donovan Mitchell. Both players enter Thursday's contest averaging just over 29 points per game, and they will surely entertain if they can both get hot.

Additionally, both teams are anchored by Defensive Player of the Year winners in Rudy Gobert and Evan Mobley, who will look to dictate the game with their presence in the paint.

Tip-off at the Target Center in Minnesota is set for 8:00 p.m. EST, as the Timberwolves look to remain a perfect 4-0 in 2026.
