The Minnesota Timberwolves have given an update on the injury status of Anthony Edwards.

The Minnesota Timberwolves are set to be without Anthony Edwards for the next couple of weeks.

The Wolves announced that Edwards will be re-evaluated in one to two weeks after an MRI revealed right knee inflammation. The MRI was conducted by Dr. Craig Bennett at Mayo Clinic Sports Medicine.

Edwards was listed as questionable with knee inflammation heading into the game against the Oklahoma City Thunder on Sunday, but ultimately played.

Edwards finished the game against OKC with 19 points, six rebounds, and five assists in 37 minutes.

He was already ruled out for Tuesday night's game against the Phoenix Suns.

Edwards is averaging a career high 29.5 points to go along with 5.1 rebounds and 3.7 assists in 58 games this season.

Moving Forward Without Edwards

The Timberwolves are in a heated Western Conference battle as they fight for playoff positioning.

They are currently sixth in the West with a 41-27 record. They have the same record as the Denver Nuggets, but trail the Houston Rockets, who are in fourth, by a half-game and the third seed Los Angeles Lakers by two games.

The Timberwolves lead the Suns by two games, making Tuesday's game even more important if the Wolves hope to avoid the Play-In game.

Phoenix has the toughest schedule remaining of the five teams battling for the four guaranteed playoff spots. The Timberwolves have the second toughest of the group. They'll play the Rockets two more times, but won't play the Lakers or Nuggets the rest of the way.

Edwards has only missed ten games this season. Minnesota is 6-4 without him, though their win profile isn't great as they defeated the Hornets and Nets in November, the Warriors once without Curry and once with Curry, the Kings, and the Bucks. None of those teams are above .500 this season.

Injury Update on Naz Reid

The Wolves did get some good news on Tuesday afternoon as former Sixth Man of the Year Naz Reid is available to play against the Suns with a right shoulder contusion. He was listed as questionable earlier on Tuesday, but was ultimately upgraded to available.

Reid suffered a hard fall against the Thunder with Isaiah Hartenstein landing on top of him. Reid came up clutching his shoulder, but ultimately stayed in the game.

The Suns will be without Dillon Brooks, who remains out after fracturing his left hand.

Grayson Allen is doubtful with left knee soreness while Haywood Highsmith is questionable and Mark Williams is out.
