The Minnesota Timberwolves host the San Antonio Spurs Sunday at Target Center in Minneapolis.

Two Western Conference powerhouses clash on Sunday when the Minnesota Timberwolves host the San Antonio Spurs.

The Timberwolves are fresh off of a loss to the lost Cleveland Cavaliers while the Spurs are looking to stretch back to back wins into a three game win streak. Both teams are working with mostly clean bills of health, but both teams also may be missing their respective star players pending game time decisions.

Both the Spurs and the Timberwolves standout as top offensive teams in the NBA. Minnesota is third in the league in points per game while San Antonio is seventh in points per game. The Timberwolves and Spurs are also six and seventh respectively in team offensive rating.

San Antonio's clear strength compared to Minnesota is defense. The Timberwolves are a strong defensive team as well, but the Spurs have a slight edge when it comes to defensive rating. San Antonio also stands out as one of the best rebounding teams in the NBA, averaging 46.7 per game.

It will likely be a shootout between the two Western Conference teams and if it comes down to it, defense will have to reign supreme for whoever comes out the other side as the victor.

Timberwolves Injury Report

Anthony Edwards (foot) is QUESTIONABLE for Sunday's game. Edwards has had a nagging foot injury for several games that hasn't kept him out of any games up to this point, but has still warranted putting him on the injury report as he's been a day-to-day decision while he's been contending with his injury.

Edwards clearly hasn't been slowed down by his questionable status, averaging 28.8 points in his last five games and recently scoring his 10,000th career point against the Cleveland Cavaliers.

Enrique Freeman, Terrence Shannon Jr. and Rocco Zikarsky (two-way) are all OUT for Friday's game as they're playing for the Iowa Wolves, Minnesota's G-League affiliate.

Spurs Injury Report

Victory Wembanyama (knee) is QUESTIONABLE for Sunday's game due to a bone bruise in his left knee. Wembanyama's bone bruise and soreness is likely an after effect of Wembanyama's earlier knee injury he suffered against the New York Knicks on Dec. 31, which led to the Spurs star missing two games in the beginning of January.

Like Edwards, Wembanyama's status will be closer to a game-time decision.

Devin Vassell (hip) is OUT for Sunday's game with a left adductor strain. This will be the seventh game that Vassell will miss due to the injury and there's no present timeline for his return.

Harrison Ingram, David Jones Garcia and Stanley Umude (two-way) are all OUT for Sunday's game as they're playing with the Austin Spurs, San Antonio's G-League affiliate, on two-way contracts.
