Minnesota should have all its players available for tonight’s Western Conference clash

Fresh off back-to-back wins over the Boston Celtics and San Antonio Spurs on Nov. 29 and Nov. 30, the Minnesota Timberwolves find themselves at full health ahead of tonight’s matchup against the New Orleans Pelicans, according to the NBA’s most recent official injury report.

This is a good sign for the Timberwolves, who haven’t dealt with many significant injuries thus far in the young season, but appear to be finding their groove and building some momentum following a three-game skid before those two recent victories.

“Sometimes you might be up, sometimes you might be down, [that’s] kind of the philosophy that I’ve always gone by where if we’re up, got to kind of push the lead, and if we’re down, got to get the lead back,” Naz Reid said during a shootaround interview today, speaking about the team’s second half defense.

“And you get the lead back by getting stops. Obviously, you got to score the ball, too, but stops is a major key. You can’t catch up or grow the lead if you don’t get stops.”

The only significant injury update for Minnesota is a positive one, as Enrique Freeman (Face; Face Mask), who joined the Timberwolves through a two-way deal back in August, is listed as available tonight.

Freeman spent last season with the Indiana Pacers, but has yet to play in a game this season with his new team.

New Orleans' Injury Updates

On the Pelicans’ side, there are a plethora of injury designations the franchise is currently working through, which only adds to the already present difficulty in rectifying the 3-18 start they have produced to start the new campaign.

Dejounte Murray (Right Achilles Rupture), Herbert Jones (Right Calf Strain), Karlo Matkovic (Right Calf Strain) and Jordan Poole (Left Quad Strain) are all listed as out for tonight’s contest. Additionally, New Orleans has several players who are listed as questionable, including Zion Williamson (Right Adductor Soreness) and Yves Missi (Right Foot/Ankle Soreness).

Luckily for the Pelicans, they will have Trey Murphy III (Right Elbow Strain) and Jordan Hawkins (Illness) in the lineup against the Timberwolves, as they are both available to play.

The Timberwolves have yet to play the Pelicans this season, but the two teams will now play each other twice in a row tonight and then on Dec. 4. Both contests will be played at the Smoothie King Center in New Orleans before Minnesota heads back to the Target Center to play the Los Angeles Clippers on Dec. 6.

Tonight’s game will tip-off at 8 p.m. EST.
