Stephen Curry put on a show for the ages Friday night, dropping 49 points to lead the Golden State Warriors to a nail-biting 109-108 victory over the San Antonio Spurs in NBA Cup action.
After the game, the Warriors' superstar shared what the moment meant to him and his team.
"I love this game. I love my teammates. I thank God every day that I get these opportunities to keep playing and enjoy these types of moments," Curry said. "It's only game 14? We're just trying to claw our way into some type of identity and momentum but that was fun...To come here and win back-to-back games is huge."
The two-time MVP was nearly perfect from the free-throw line, connecting on all eight attempts while shooting 16-of-26 from the field and 9-of-17 from beyond the arc.
Curry's 49-point performance was a season-high and came just two days after he posted 46 points in the Warriors' 125-120 win over the same Spurs team.
