Draymond Green didn't hesitate to disagree with his ranking on Bleacher Report's list of the NBA's greatest trash talkers, saying no one belongs ahead of him.
Draymond Green has built a Hall of Fame-caliber career through defense, leadership and intensity, but he believes another part of his game deserves even more recognition.
The Golden State Warriors forward recently reacted to Bleacher Report's ranking of the NBA's Top 50 trash talkers of all time, where Green came in at No. 9. While many players would have appreciated making the list, Green made it clear he thought the ranking was far too low.
"This one I will argue," Green said. "I think I'm above all these guys. Ah man, it's defense, it's offense, it's 3-point... this is trash talking and this is talking that s**t and that's what I do. I talk that shit, so No. 9 I think is a bit wild."
The comment sparked immediate discussion across social media, with fans debating whether Green belongs among the greatest verbal competitors the NBA has ever seen.
Trash Talk Has Always Been Part of Green's Identity
Since entering the league in 2012, Green has become one of basketball's most vocal personalities.
Whether he's directing teammates on defense, challenging opponents after a big play or exchanging words with officials, Green has rarely shied away from speaking his mind. His confidence and competitiveness have become defining characteristics throughout his career with Golden State.
Those traits have also helped shape one of the NBA's greatest dynasties. Green has played a central role in multiple Warriors championships alongside Stephen Curry and Klay Thompson, earning a reputation as one of the league's smartest defenders and emotional leaders.
His willingness to talk throughout games has often frustrated opponents while energizing teammates, making trash talk another tool he uses to gain a competitive edge.
Green has never viewed it as simply trying to entertain fans. Instead, he has often described communication as part of winning basketball, whether it's motivating teammates or trying to disrupt an opponent's rhythm.
Where Does Green Rank Among NBA Trash Talkers?
The debate over the greatest trash talkers in NBA history has always been subjective.
Legends such as Larry Bird, Michael Jordan, Kevin Garnett and Gary Payton are frequently mentioned among the sport's most relentless competitors, each known for using words as effectively as their play.
Green believes he deserves to be mentioned above all of them when it comes to verbal battles on the court.
Whether fans agree depends on how they define trash talking. Some value memorable one-liners, while others believe consistency and the ability to back up the talk matter most.
Few players have backed up their confidence like Green.

His latest comments are unlikely to settle the debate, but they reinforce the image Green has embraced throughout his career.
Love him or hate him, Green has never lacked confidence. And if you ask him, there isn't another player in NBA history who has talked the game better than he has.
