Steve Kerr and Draymond Green are an inseparable part of one of the greatest dynasties in the history of the NBA: the Golden State Warriors, who ruled over basketball in the mid-2010's, but that doesn't mean their relationship is perfect at all times. 

When a coach and a player have been together as long as Kerr and Green have, they forma. deep connection, but they also, like most family dynamics, have the ability to get under each other's skin.

And when the player in a relationship like that is a player like Green, getting under one's skin comes with the territory. 

Green has made a career out of both his Hall of Fame worthy defense, but also the attitude and aggression that he brings to the court.

He's one of the modern NBA's great trash talkers and he won't shy away from a fight, whether that's against another player on the court or one of his teammates in practice, like when he famously punched Jordan Poole during a training session while the pair were on the Warriors together. 

With a play style like that, getting into trouble is natural and for Green, that trouble often comes in the form of ejections. He had two ejections this past season, tied for the most out of any player in the NBA, and it's those kind of antics that can cause friction between Green and his coach. 

Their up-and-down relationship isn't a secret it seems. Green recently appeared on an episode of Jimmy Kimmel Live! where host Jimmy Kimmel didn't waste any time diving into Green and Kerr's relationship. 

When Kimmel described their dynamic as a love-hate relationship, Green jumped in with his own distinction.

"Yes. Except I think he hates me and then loves me. A little skewed , but I earned it," Green said. 

There are definitely times where Green has "earned" Kerr's ire. The aforementioned incident with Poole likely tanked team dynamics and Poole was ultimately traded away soon after, forcing the Warriors to restart their for their star of the next generation. 

There's also possibly the most infamous incident, when Green was suspended for Game 5 of the 2016 NBA Finals, a series the Warriors ultimately lost to the Cleveland Cavaliers after blowing a 3-1 lead for the first time in NBA history. 

All of the blame can't be fully put on Green for the entire series loss, but missing him in what could have been the deciding game is definitely a major blow in the history of his career. 

But, even with all of the negative incidents in Green's career, he's also been a major piece in winning four championships with Kerr and the Warriors and for all of the trials he's gone through with the team, Kerr and Green are tied together in NBA history forever.
