The Golden State Warriors have started the first 30 games of the 2025-26 season at an even 15-15. They sit in 8th in the Western Conference standings, 3.5 games behind the 6th seed, and have experienced both incredible victories and crushing defeats.

Throughout these ups and downs, frustrations have arisen in multiple areas. The Warriors believe they're a much better team than their record indicates, and some players — especially Draymond Green — are not afraid to express this opinion.

Green Talks Frustrations Of Mediocre Start

After the Warriors' win over the Magic on Monday night, which was overshadowed by the drama of Green momentarily leaving the court at the end of the third quarter following an argument with Steve Kerr, the veteran was asked about his reaction to being 15-15 after the first 30 games of the season.

"That's probably why tempers are flaring. Quite honestly, if everybody's okay with being 15-15 and it's just whoopty-do, talk to me when they're 41-41. Can't be whoopty-do when you're 15-15. Something's gotta give. But, we were 13-15, so I'll take 15-15. It means it's headed in the right direction."

That was a big theme of Green's postgame press conference: moving forward. Especially when most of the questions posed to him were about the incident on the bench that followed his ejection on Saturday against the Suns, Green made sure to emphasize that the primary goal and focus is team success.

"(We have to) do the right things. As long as the objective is to win, and that's the main objective, then the only way forward is the right way."

Warriors Post Middle-Of-The-Pack Stats

The Warriors' 15-15 record may not exactly be reflective of how good the team believes they are, but the stats, on the other hand, seem to show a team that should be hovering around .500.

Many of their stats balance each other out. For example, in points per game, the Warriors are currently 22nd in the NBA, while their field goal percentage is 26th. However, they clock in at 12th in three-point percentage and are the 6th-best free-throw shooting team in the league.

Even the advanced stats support this, too, at least to a smaller extent. On the season, the Warriors are just 21st in offensive rating, but clock in as the third-best defense in the league. That all comes out to their net rating being 10th in the NBA, which should indicate a team slightly better than 8th in the West and 15-15, but isn't quite an extremely formidable playoff contender that the Warriors are likely hoping to be.

The Warriors will look to get back over .500 for the first time since the first week of December with their Christmas Day game against the Dallas Mavericks.
