Per reports from ESPN's Shams Charania, former Boston Celtics center Al Horford has agreed to join the Golden State Warriors as a free agent. He plans on finalizing the deal and joining the Warriors this week.

Golden State will be the fifth team of his career.

Terms of the deal have not been disclosed, but the deal is anticipated to be for multiple seasons. The specifics will be worked out when restricted free agent Jonathan Kuminga finalizes his intentions with the team this week.

Golden State has had problems finding consistency in the middle of the frontcourt. Horford would make a reliable starter and fits well in coach Steve Kerr's scheme. The five-time NBA All-Star has drilled at least 100 3-point field goals in each of the last three seasons. He can stretch the floor and provide admirable defense.

Horford was thought of as the top center in free agency this past offseason. He was contemplating signing with the Warriors or retiring. He apparently is not ready to hang up his sneakers just yet.

He is expected to fit in nicely with the Warriors' current star-studded lineup of Steph Curry, Jimmy Butler and Draymond Green. Horford averaged nine points and 6.2 rebounds with Boston last season. He also shot 36.1 percent from 3-point range.

The former University of Florida star has averaged at least 60 games in 10 of his last 11 seasons. His durability of late has never been called into question.

It is undetermined if Kuminga will rejoin the team. He has until October 1 to accept his qualifying offer.

The Warriors will hold their media day on Monday, Sept. 29, when training camp officially opens.
