Golden State Warriors vs. Sacramento Kings Injury Report cover image

The Sacramento Kings host the Golden State Warriors on Wednesday.

When the Golden State Warriors and Sacramento Kings play on Wednesday in Sacramento, the court will be missing several major stars from both teams.

The Warriors have had to battle through an extremely tough schedule to start the season and have come out of it 5-3 going into Wednesday. The Kings have faltered through the beginning of the season at currently sit at a 2-5 record.

What should be an easy, or at least manageable, win for Golden State on Wednesday will be made difficult by how thin their roster is looking for the game. Golden State head coach Steve Kerr will have to dig deep into his bench to put together a winning lineup.

Warriors Injury Report

Golden State has a long list of injured players to handle.

Jimmy Butler III (back), Steph Curry (illness) and Alex Toohey (knee) are all OUT for Wednesday's game.

Brandin Podziemski (wrist) and Draymond Green (ribs) are both QUESTIONABLE to appear against the Kings. Podziemski has been dealing with lingering left wrist soreness, while Green suffered a right rib contusion that has left his status murky.

With all of these injuries, the Warriors have been stripped of most of their starting roster and a key bench piece in Podziemski. Jonathan Kuminga and Quinten Post are the lone members of the usual starting five that remain fully available for Wednesday and will have to carry that burden. It will be a major test for Kuminga as he has to essentially lead the team.

Buddy Hield, Moses Moody and Al Horford will likely be called on to help fill the gaps as well, testing the strength of the Golden State bench in starting roles.

Kings Injury Report

While not as severe as the Warriors' situation, the Kings have some stars missing as well.

Zach LaVine (back) and Domantas Sabonis (ribs) are OUT for Wednesday's game. A longtime member of the Kings injury report is Keegan Murray, who is also OUT and has been since he suffered a UCL tear in his left thumb during the preseason.

Despite two big starters missing for Sacramento, they still have strong players in DeMar DeRozan and Dennis Schröder, with Russell Westbrook providing support as well.

Both teams may be working with rosters that are unfamiliar to many fans, but that doesn't mean either should be underestimated.

The Warriors will have to work hard and trust in the strength of their bench, which they fortified in the offseason, to outlast Sacramento, a task made even harder by having to do it in the Kings' home court.
